The appointment was questioned by Dr Shivananda, working as a contract employee at the Institute. The Institute has appointed the Medical Superintendent of Vani Vilas Hospital, M L Siddaraju to the position of Director. The petitioner alleged that he was sidelined for the post, even though he has served as the Director on a contract basis for a period of 10 months, beginning Dec 9, 2005. In interviews conducted in Feb 2007, Shivananda scored 67/100, while Siddaraju scored 50/100.
