The show will have six well-known music directors and singers Nanditha, Shamitha, Chaitra H G, Hemanth B S, Rajesh Ramnath and L N Shastri as captains on the same platform, to challenge each other’s supremacy, along with a team of three members.
“We are thrilled to unite talented music composers and singers and to unveil the young artistes, who will perform under the guidance of six stalwarts. This will surely raise the bar for reality shows,” said Ravi Menon, the programming head.

Sangeeta Mahayuddha will be shown for a total of 14 weeks in 28 episodes. Six teams, led by their captains, will battle it out in a weekly music competition. Each week, two captains will compete for the highest score and the other captains will judge the performances of the singers.

Nandita, who leads the team Malenada Masters, said, the show is a team-building exercise for her. “In each team, we have a child artiste and two adults. Apart from brushing our skills, we can learn a lot about human relationships,” she said. The youngest captain, Chaitra H G of Karunada Colors, said that the programme is very innovative and confessed that she is a bit worried to judge those who are senior to her.
Hemant B S of Bayalusima Bulls said that he is going to get butterflies in his stomach while performing. “We will be undergoing all kinds of emotions during the show. We, the captains, are good friends and dying hard to give our best,” he said. Captain of Mahanagara Mallaru Rajesh Ramnath said that the show provided him an opportunity to recollect his college days.

Shamita, who leads Caravalli Cobras, hoped that people would receive the programme wholeheartedly. L N Shastri, who leads Veera Nayakas, said that he is eagerly waiting for the show and that everyone is in sportive mood. Hosted by the versatile singer Sowmya Raoh, Sangeeta Mahayuddha will be commencing from June 26 on Udaya TV. It will air every Saturday and Sunday, 9 pm to 10 pm.
