But, unfortunately, the border dispute between the neighbouring state Tamil Nadu has been affecting the tourism sector. The spot, which used to witness buzzing activity during the month of June-July, when river Cauvery is at its splendour, is seeing less tourists, thanks to the frequent trouble erupting in the place.
Hogenakkal is around 120 kms from the taluk, and the river Cauvery which flows here transforms into splendid falls attracting hordes of visitors. While the Tamil Nadu government has made all basic amenities and other arrangements for the tourists from their state, our state is negligent thus losing on lot of exchequer.
Most importantly, construction of clean toilets is the need of the hour. A watch tower is mandatory for the place. As more and more people love to sail in coracles, it is necessary to distribute safety jackets.
