Sthree Shakthi expo begins in Chettalli

Exhibitions to be held in 7 villages soon

Sthree Shakthi groups have been becoming strong in rural areas. The district has over thousand Sthree Shakthi Sanghas and have achieved success. The role of women and child welfare department in the success of Sthree Shakthi Sangha is highly commendable. The exhibition of products produced by the Sthree Shakthi Sangha were restricted to urban areas so far. However, an exhbition was organised at Chettalli, which received overwhelming response. The department is planning to organise such melas in seven villages by September end.

The exhibition was held under the aegis of Abhyathmangala Jyothi Sthree Shakthi Valaya Okkuta and Suntikoppa Mother Teresa Sthree Shakthi Valaya Okkuta at Chettalli.
Sthree Shakthi Sangha Manager Sharada Raman said Sthree Shakthi Sangha was started to bring women to the mainstreams of the society. Women should make use of the facilities of the government.

There is good demand for the products produced by Sthree Shakthi Sangha. The Sthree Shakthi Sangha should maintain quality of the products. Women and child welfare department has been organising training programme in marketing for Sthree Shakthi Sangha.

Taluk Sthree Shakthi Federation Director Rehana Firoza said women should not restrict themselves to coolie work.

Somwarpet taluk Assistant Project Officer Yashodha, Shaila, Chettalli GP Secretary Latha, Syndicate Bank Manager S N Ayyappa and others were present. More than 15 Sthree Shakthi Sanghas took part in the exhibition.
