Elephant tramples two to death

Revappa had been to the forest near Hemavathy backwater to graze sheep. However, he did not return home in the evening. The family members made several calls to Revappa’s mobile but there was no reply. The family members began to search the forest area and continued the search along with the Forest department on Tuesday.

The body of Revappa was found near the backwaters of Hemavathy. The elephant had trampled him on his head and chest. Ramesh who had gone in search of his friend’s father into the forest was also killed by the elephant. The residents of Hampapura are in a state of fear after hearing the news of the death of two villagers. Ramesh is the only son of his parents. DFO Kantaraj, ACF Prasanna Kumar, RFO Jayaprakash and Circle Inspector V Krishnaiah visited the spot. The bodies were handed over to the family members after the post mortem.
