According to the police, the accused are - Palani, Kandaswamy and Ayyandore of Kattaripatti of Mettur taluk, Salem district and Kandan of Nayambadi. The other two accused, Chinnaraju and Mahadeva are still at large.
They had allegedly poached the tiger for its skin near Sorekayimadivu range at Palar region and escaped when they attempted to sell the pelt to the CID police who approached them in the guise of businessmen.
It may be mentioned here that the CID sleuths had arrested Karpushetty along with tiger skin recently. M M Hills police have registered a case.
