Murder attempt foiled, 11 arrested

According to the police, the 11 had gathered near Kempegowda playground in Hanumanthanagar to target former gangster Jedarahalli Krishnappa.

The police have identified the 11 accused as Ravi Chandra of Tamil Nadu, Rajesh and Manikantan of Katriguppe, Harish and Shiv Kumar of Hanumanthanagar, Harish and Stalin of JP Nagar, Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Narayana of C K Achukattu and Maniwandan.

“Some of them were waiting in an auto while others were waiting nearby to attack Jedarahaalli Krishnappa near the Kempegowda playground. Acting on a tip-off, we reached the spot and arrested some of them and managed to arrest the later,” the police said.

The police have also recovered the autorickshaw, mobile phones and weapons. The leader of the gang Ravi Chandra is wanted in 12 cases including murder and robbery. The other accused identified as Rajesh is wanted in 14 cases including murder and attempt to murder. Stalin and Harish have three and six cases pending against them respectively.
