STF: HC prefers sites to grants

The single judge bench had ordered the allotment of free sites to all the STF personnel but the government instead had given them grants. The Division Bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath and B L Patil questioned the government.

When Advocate General Ashok Haranalli told the bench about grants being given due to dearth of sites in the City, the bench expressed dissatisfaction and said, “There are lakhs of sites under the BDA, as indicated by advertisements. How can the government quote shortage of sites?” The bench directed the government to provide complete details of all the vacant sites available in the State.
