BBMP Coporator nabbed for taking bribe

L Govindaraju, corporator of Ward No 165 (Ganesh Mandir Ward) demanded Rs eight lakh from Udaykumar,who was constructing an apartment in Katriguppe, Banashankari Stage III, and was arrested on the grounds that he had violated Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) rules, a Lokayukta release said.

The corporator had earlier received Rs two lakh and had further demanded another Rs three lakh from him.

The corporator was caught redhanded while accepting a bribe  of Rs two lakh at his residence by the Lokayukta police and taken into custody,it added.
