Gang of four poses as customers at closing hours of the shop

The incident took place around 8.15 pm as the shop owner Jayaram was preparing to pull down the shutter. He had closed one door and was about to close the second one.
By this time, four persons requested him to let them enter into the shop on the pretext of purchasing some ornaments.

All of a sudden, they started attacking Jayaram and his staff with knives and choppers and fled with ornaments worth Rs eight lakh, the police said.

They fled the spot in two bikes. Jayaram has sustained minor injuries.

“Though a lot of people witnessed the whole incident inside the shop, none noted down the registration number of the bikes as everything happened within ten minutes.”
“There were no CCTV cameras installed in the shop” according to the inspector of Hennur police station.

Four held

 The City police have arrested three persons for plotting robbery.

Arif Ali (20) of Chennapattna, Ejaz Pasha (28) of Iliyasnagar and Mohammad Sabir (23) of Mysore were arrested when they were allegedly hatching a robbery plot at Bal Mandir Gate near Kidwai Hospital on Hosur Road recently.

Lethal weapons have been seized from the arrested and search is on for three more suspects who escaped the police net.

Vain bid

A gang of three persons made a vain bid to commit robbery at the house of a Head Constable in Soladevanahalli on Sunday. The suspects barged into the house breaking open the rear door lock when Manohar, a resident of Hesaraghatta Main Road, his wife and daughter were fast asleep.

Manohar’s wife and his daughter cried for help when the suspects laid their hands on their neck to snatch the gold chains.  The intruders, before fleeing, attacked Manohar as he switched on the lights. Manohar, undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital, is stated to be out of danger, the police added.
