
“State Government will provide Rs 100 crore for establishment of the college of which Rs 50 crore will be released in first phase,” he told media persons in Kemmannugundi hill station of Chikmagalur district on Wednesday. The proposed college will undertake study and research works on Amruth Mahal and other native cow breeds. Ample land is available in Ajjampura for the establishment of the college. The land acquisition process for the proposed institute will commence soon, he added.
He reiterated that State Government is committed to develop Amruth Mahal Kaval-the breeding centres of Amruth Mahal variety of cattle in Tarikere and Ajjampura. The land belonging to Amruth Mahal Kaval will be fenced and developed. Legal action will be taken to clear encroachment here soon. The chief minister assured to provide necessary funds for development of Amruth Mahal Kavals in other parts of the State.
