Ki Ram Nagaraj no more

Nagaraj was delivering a lecture “Matte Bantu Shravana” at the Sahitya Sanje organised by the Suchitra Film Society, when he suffered the attack and collapsed. He was immediately rushed to Bangalore Hospital, where he died.

Born on December 5, 1943, Nagaraj did his BA from the University of Mysore and completed MA from Bangalore University, where he became a professor. An admirer of poet Da Ra Bendre, Nagaraj used to deliver lectures on his poetry. He also taught at the National
College, Hampi University.

A father of three daughters, Nagaraj received a number of literary honours including the Dr GSS Award and the Sahitya Academy Honorary Award. His last rites will be performed at the Banashankari crematorium on Sunday afternoon.
