<p>The problems at the power stations have worsened in the last two weeks. According to Bescom sources, the on-going repair and maintenance work at Bellary Thermal Power Station is expected to be completed in another three days.<br /><br />Only five out of the eight units at the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) are generating power. Added to it, there could also be a problem of short supply of coal. Besides, generation at Udupi thermal plant has also been delayed due to pre-commercial operation problems.<br /><br />Almost all parts of the City are experiencing two to three hours of power disruption per day, that too during the morning hours when power is required the most. <br /><br />When contacted, Bescom Managing Director Tushar Girinath, he said he was not aware of the power cuts in the City. “Please ask KPTCL about the power problems, I do not know why there is no power in the City,” he said.</p>
