"In an urban set up, things are very different. Discrimination is very much a reality," he replied to a girl student who suggested abolishing reservation was the best way to revamp the education system.
The 39 year-old Congress leader, who had an interaction with students of the National College here, emphasised the need for giving equal opportunity to every citizen to prove himself irrespective of caste or creed.
To the girl's complaint that meritorious students were not getting their due because of the reservation system, Gandhi said everybody needs to given an opportunity. Gandhi later interacted with students of National Law School and also visited the KPCC office.
