KPCC's plea to Rahul

Last Updated 14 August 2010, 17:42 IST

The three-page memorandum seeks Rahul's ‘guidance’ and ‘direction’ in taking forward the party’s agitation against the State government.

KPCC has charged that law and order was deteriorating in the State resulting in a fear psychosis among women and minorities. Further, the State government had failed to provide adequate relief and rehabilitation for flood victims of North Karnataka.

‘Till today no major relief work has been undertaken.... There has been no accountability on central assistance provided for relief work,’ the memorandum stated.

KPCC has also alleged in the memorandum that the State Government was directly supporting illegal mining in the State.

Pointing out that the KPCC has already approached the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, Finance and Forest Ministers to take action against all miners who have participated in illegal mining, the State Congress has urged Rahul to ‘take up the matter’ to ensure that those who have looted the state’s wealth are punished.
