"He is trying to create groupism. We have taken up the matter with the high command and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi has also been informed about this," he told reporters here.
"Recently at Nagapattinam, Karti Chidambaram, also an AICC member, had distributed Youth Congress membership cards to volunteers though he was not supposed to do so," Yuvaraj, elected to the post recently, said.
He said YC district leaders in Nagapattinam had been advised to distribute the membership cards but Karti chose to do it "in violation of party principles".
Show cause notices had been sent to two YC functionaries for inviting Karti to distribute membership cards, he said, adding that he had received complaints from various YC leaders against Karti for allegedly interfering in the YC functioning.
