He was felicitated by Fr Muller Medical College Hospital Administrator Fr Richard Coelho.
“Dominance of senior citizens in Konkani literature may be the reason behind youth not getting a chance. Youth must be encouraged by recognition and awards,” said Netto after the felicitation.

“We can encourage Konkani today by speaking Konkani at home. Many children from Konkani families speak English and broken Konkani. With such knowledge, it would be difficult for them to contribute to Konkani literature. Let’s talk Konkani and make this language stay,” said Fr Coelho.

“The love of Konkani literature should be brought into children at a very young age. Many schools have started teaching Konkani and have included this subject in their syllabus. Only motivation can get Konkani writers into mainstream,” opined CEO and Editor-in-chief of daijiworld.com Walter Nandalike. Eddie Netto is a retired Air Force Missile Officer and has been awarded Rashtrapathi Puraskar for honest service. He has authored 2,592 articles during his tenure of 54 years. The felicitation was followed by Melwyn Peris Nostalgic Musical Nite.

Rachana-The Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry- President J S Noronha, Renowned Konkani Musician Melwyn Peris, Konkani Kutam Bharain Convener Richard Moras were the other dignitaries present.
