<p>The Rawalpindi-based anti-terrorism court of Judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan acquitted seven others accused in the same case for lack of evidence.<br /><br />The court also imposed fines of Rs 2 lakh on the six men — Zafar Mehmood, Muhammad Ishaq, Abid Khan, Muhammad Kabir, Intikhab Abbasi and Qamar-uz-Zaman — who were awarded life terms.<br /><br />The 13 accused were arrested in the Sadiqabad area of Rawalpindi in 2008. Police seized three vehicles packed with over 1,000 kg of explosives from their possession.<br /><br />Investigators had alleged that the arrested planned to use the explosives-laden vehicles to mount a suicide attack on Musharraf’s motorcade.</p>
