Muthalik is facing charges of provocative speech at Virat Hindu convention held at Goniokoppal five years ago. The hearing was postponed to July 24. On the grounds of provocative speech, the Gonikoppalu police had filed chargesheet before the court against Muthalik. The court had examined 21 witnesses. However, the hearing was postponed as one of the witness Benny was not keeping well on Friday. Police have been asked to produce the video clippings of the speech in the next hearing.

Speaking to presspersons after the hearing, Muthalik said Sri Rama Sene activists will stage protest in all the district headquarters condemning the attack on Indian students at Australia on June 25.

The attack on Indian students must be considered seriously by the Centre. The State government is not following 50 per cent of principles of Hindutva. The anti-Hindutva policy lead to the failure of BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.

Owing to threat calls from Dubai and other foreign countries, Muthalik has been given CRP police gun man along with six body guards.
