Ex-servicemen's grievances meet

They took a trip down the memory lane, discussing various war incidents at the first ever meeting of the ex-servicemen organised by the district ex-servicemen’s trust on Sunday.
Ex-servicemen Rehabilitation and Welfare Department Deputy Director Lieutenant Colonel Saraswatamma inaugurated the programme.

She commended the trust for having organised the programme at the taluk level as she felt such grieviance meet should have been held at district level.

She called upon the former army personnel to avail of the facilities provided by the government.

Speaking on the occasion District President of the trust Chowdappa said a community hall for the ex-servicemen should be opened in each taluk. He also demanded that they should be given government land and Sainik rally should be held in Chikkaballapur, NCC wings should be opened in the district centres; quota for them should be given in the recruitments in  private and government sectors.

There wasn’t a dry eye at the venue when the wives of army personnel who laid down their life in the service of the nation, were felicitated.

Son of an ex-serviceman Tukaram T Kiran who has obtained gold medal in MBBS and many other meritorious students were also felicitated.

Captain Satish,  K Krishna, Amaranathababu, K R Sundarraj were present on the occasion.
