Modi objects Srinivasan's presence in disciplinary panel meet

Last Updated 15 September 2010, 16:53 IST

"Mr N Srinivasan, secretary BCCI was present during the deliberations of the disciplinary committee yesterday as well as today about which we have taken exception and will raise proper objection at the appropriate time," Abdi told PTI.

Abdi also said that instead of Mr Sundar Raman (IPL CEO) being called as the first witness as was decided earlier, it was Mr Peter Griffiths (of IMG), who was called as the first witness today.

He was also sarcastic about the speed with which disciplinary committee hearing was being conducted as well as the shifting of its venue from the Taj Palace hotel to committee member Jyotiraditya Scindia's residence yesterday.

"The Government of India should learn a lesson or two from the way the BCCI disciplinary committee is meeting in Delhi, especially with regard to the Commonwealth Games preparations. Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia was running very high fever but still the disciplinary committee hearing was shifted from its official premises to his residence which speaks volumes about the haste with which they want to deal with Lalit Modi," Abdi said.
