Last Updated 17 September 2010, 17:36 IST

Asked whether he would relieve some of the ministers to work for the party, Yeddyurappa said all ministers in the cabinet were prepared to work for the party giving up their berths in the cabinet. “I am also ready to relieve those whom Eshwarappa (BJP state president) needs to work for the party”, he said.

Yeddyurappa has said the voters of Gulbarga South and Kadur constituencies taught a lesson to the Congress by rejecting it, which had been criticising BJP rule for the last 27 months.

He said the Congress padayatra from Bangalore to Bellary failed to attract voters in the elections. He was also ready to convene a meeting of Opposition parties and discuss the state’s issues, he added.

No regrets

Reacting to a question, he said he had no regrets for fielding Sashil G Namoshi as the candidate instead of wife of late Chandrashekhar Patil Revoor. The party took unanimous decision to field Namoshi and there was on regret on the selection.

Earlier in the day, Yeddyurappa met senior RSS functionaries in Bangalore and discussed the latest political developments with them.
