<p>Amidst noisy scenes, leaders and party workers finally decided to refer the matter to Union External Affairs Minister S M Krishna and former union minister, Ambareesh.<br /><br />The meeting also witnessed throwing of chairs, interruption to speeches by leaders and wordy duel among party workers. Despite commotion, party observer Jayasimha announced that the selection of new president would be left to Krishna and Ambareesh.<br /><br />The meeting also adopted resolutions welcoming re-election of Sonia Gandhi as president of AICC and urging Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah to withdraw his resignation which he had submitted due to debacle of party candidates in recent by-elections to Kadur and Gulbarga Assembly constituencies.<br /><br />Today’s meeting became a forum for the supporters of both Ambareesh and Ravindra Srikantaiah to settle the scores. A group of workers took strong objection for not putting the photograph of Ambareesh on the flex which has been put up near the meeting place. <br />Their complaint continued in the meeting too. While Ravindra got up to address the meeting, the slogan shouting brigand raised slogans against him. Utter chaos marred in the meeting.<br /><br />Sensing that the meeting is going out of control, MLA Sureshgowda said the party was in dire straits and appealed to the party workers to be united. Former MLA, Mallajamma opined that the party might have erred but it would be set right in the coming days. She wanted the party workers to remain calm. <br /><br />However, their appeal had no takers.<br /><br />Despite commotion the meeting adopted three resolutions.
