Three cases solved, Rs 40 lakh valuables recovered

Acting on complaints from tourists at Nandi Hills that some persons were waylaying them and robbing them of their valuables, two accused, were arrested and a car, motorcycle and two gold chains recovered from them, Superintendent of Police Bangalore District B A Mahesh said in a statement.

The duo have been remanded to judicial custody and efforts are on to nab their other associates, he said. In another case, a four year-old boy kidnapped by a man of Surajpur village in Jharkhand for "personal reasons", was rescued by police from that state and the accused arrested.

The kidnap cum murder of a college student was also solved with the arrest of six persons, all of whom have been remanded to judicial custody, he said.
