Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, BJP Yuva Morcha district unit president Bharathish said the public meeting will be held on October 5 at Gandhi Maidan which will be attended by Varun Gandhi, Navajyoth Singh Siddu and BJP Yuva Morcha state president Sunil Kumar.

He said the problem of terrorism has become a menace in the country. Kodagu has become hiding place for terrorists. Naxals are also becoming strong in Sringeri in Karnataka. There is a need to create an awareness among youth on the need to face the challenges posed by the terrorism and naxalism.

The jatha will commence after garlanding the statue of General Thimmaiah. A shobhayathre will be held in major streets of the town. About 10,000 youths are expected to take part, he added.

He said “Kodagu is land of warriors. We will not allow the land to become land of Naxals or terrorists.  We will inculcate the feeling of patriotism among the youths.”  A bike jatha will also be held on the occasion. It will travel to different districts and culminate in Mangalore on October 12, he informed.
