The victim, Shekhar, from Bannimod was a worker at Chickpet. Police said Shekar had been quarrelling with his friends for the past few days. On Saturday, Shekhar reportedly tried to manhandle his friends and they attacked him with lethal weapons.
A few persons who noticed Shekhar being attacked alerted the police. The police are on the look out for the suspects.
Rowdy sheeter booked
The City police have arrested a rowdy sheeter, Thirukumar alias Kutti under the Goonda Act.
According to a notice issued by Commissioner of Police Shankar Bidari on September 24, Thirukumar, who was allegedly involved in 11 crimes, is currently in judicial custody.
Apart from a kidnap case booked against him in 1993 in Cottonpet, Thirukumar was also wanted in connection with murder, extortion, assault, riot and several other cases registered in Upparpet, Madivala, Pulakeshinagar, Ramamurthynagar and Ulsoor police
stations.
