Delta Flight 224, which took off from Seattle around 5:20 pm (0020 GMT today) bound for Amsterdam, was about half an hour into its flight when there was a "passenger disturbance," Delta spokeswoman Leslie Parker told AFP, without specifying the nature of the disruption.

The plane landed back at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport without incident shortly before 7:30 pm (0330 GMT)."The crew evaluated the situation and decided the best thing to do was to return to Seattle, so they landed safely in Seattle without incident and the passenger was removed from the flight," Parker said.

"We are doing everything we can to get that flight back out to Amsterdam tonight."
Parker said Delta was cooperating with authorities.

Passengers disembarked and the troublesome person was taken to a local medical facility, The Seattle Times reported.

According to KIRO TV, no passengers were injured during the incident. It said the airport and Delta officials performed a security sweep of the plane before allowing it to depart for Amsterdam again. The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) could not immediately be reached for comment
