Avant 2018, a design event and cultural evening, organised by Faculty of Architecture, MAHE, at the MIT Quadrangle offered an opportunity for final year interior design students to showcase their talent and skills in a fashion show.

The fashion show opened with the 'Graduation Collection' displaying themes such as ‘Kintsugi to Equestrienne and Indian Cinderella’. Other rounds included nine to five western formal wear and ethnic wear perfect for Indian occasions. To rev up the event, the students of the Department of Design staged music and dance performances.

Wendell inspired students and faculty with his experience in the world of design. He told the students: “Be your own DNA, be true to yourself, be of diverse capacities”.

At Opus, Faculty of Architecture hosted MIT Director, Dr Srikanth Rao, to an evening of varied cultural events by the students and faculty. Energetic and fun-filled pre-event competitions preceded the two events.

Students’ design projects from the disciplines of Architecture, Interior Design and Fashion Design were also displayed in the foyers and corridors at FOA. The event wound up with an ‘upcycled’ fashion range made from hand-me-down silk sarees and denim waste panels.
