DDPI, principal booked under Pocso

A case has been booked against DDPI and principal of Government High School, Muniyal, under Pocso Act for not taking action against two teachers who had allegedly inappropriately touched a minor girl while caning her for not completing a class work.

The incident, which came to light on Friday, had taken place one-and-a-half months ago.

The parents of the minor girl had already filed a complained against the two teachers with the school principal. However, the issue was ignored by principal Ramakrishna Hegde and DDPI Sheshashayana. Later, the parents were compelled to approach the police.

The teachers are Manjunath, a mathematics teacher and Sujeendra, a Hindi teacher. The teachers are absconding.

A case is registered in Hebri police station.
