Rumour of SDPI nominee withdrawing papers goes viral

A rumour doing the rounds on social media is that Riyaz Farangipete, the SDPI nominee from Bantwal constituency, has withdrawn his nomination.

Sources in the SDPI said, “The SDPI has not entered into any understanding with the Congress. To check communal forces coming to power, we are discussing within the party about the withdrawal of nomination.”

The last date for withdrawing nominations is April 27. Returning Officer Ravi Basarihalli told DH that no one withdrew their nomination in Bantwal constituency.
