Bollywood star Deepika Padukone took to Instagram to name and shame a troll for sending her abusive messages on social media. The Piku actor shared a screenshot of his messages and added sarcastically that his parents would be 'proud' of his actions. She later deleted her post for reasons best known to her.
This comes at a time when several stars have highlighted the need to combat social media abuse. Actor Sonakshi Sinha had quit Twitter last year to cut a 'source of negativity' from her life at a time when star kids were being trolled for being 'products of nepotism'.
Scam 1992 star Shreya Dhanwanthary too had asked netizens to realise that trolling is 'sh*tty thing to do' as it may hurt the person at the receiving end.
Popular Tollywood star Samantha Akkineni, who is set to make her OTT debut with the upcoming series The Family Man Season 2, recently revealed that she was deeply affected by trolls during her initial years in the industry.
Coming back to Deepika, she is going through an eventful phase on the work front. The actor was last seen in Chhapaak, which featured her in the role of an acid attack survivor.
The film, which garnered a fair deal of attention due to its bold theme, proved to be a commercial failure despite receiving rave reviews.

DP will soon be seen playing the role of former cricketer Kapil Dev's wife Romy in the Kabir Khan-helmed movie 83, which features her husband actor Ranveer Singh as 'Paaji'. She is set to collaborate with pan-India star Prabhas for a magnum opus to be helmed by Nag Ashwin. The film is touted to be a fantasy-drama and reportedly explores the concept of the 'inner God'. The buzz is that the movie has shades of the yesteryear classic Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari.
There have also been talks of her teaming up with Telugu actor Mahesh Babu and Hrithik Roshan for the magnum opus Ramayana 3D
