'Saina' teaser: Parineeti Chopra hits the right notes with her intensity

The video starts with a voiceover that establishes the ace shuttler as a trailblazer who made it big in the sports world even though the odds were stacked against her. The teaser subsequently highlights her determination and hunger for success.

'Pari' appears to have aced the challenging role as her body language is top-notch. She trained rigorously to do justice to the character and the efforts seem to have paid off. Saina might prove to be a gamechanger for her if the execution is up to the mark.

The movie has been directed by Amole Gupte, who is best known for wielding the microphone for the critically-acclaimed movie Stanley Ka Dabba. He had also written the story/screenplay of the Aamir Khan-starrer Taare Zameen Par.

The first look poster of Saina, which was released a couple of days ago, received flak from netizens as the makers apparently mixed up a badminton serve with the one used in tennis. The movie is slated to release in theatres on March 26.

The film was originally offered to Shraddha Kapoor but 'Aarohi' quit the project due to date issues.

Parineeti, meanwhile, is going through a dull phase on the work front. The actor was last seen in the thriller The Girl On The Train, which received underwhelming reviews from most critics. The film was an adaptation of a novel/book of the same name and released directly on Netflix as opposed to in theatres. Saina may be a make-or-break affair for her.

She also has the Sandeep Vanga-directed Animal in her kitty. The film features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead and has a dark storyline. It is slated to release next year.
