'Jailer 2' officially announced on Pongal, Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian

Rajinikanth fans had a special treat this Pongal with the much-awaited announcement of his next project. Jailer 2 was officially announced with a teaser on Pongal bringing joy to Rajini fans.

The makers dropped the announcement video on social media and wrote:

“Sun Pictures proudly presents #Jailer2 starring Superstar @rajinikanth..." (sic)

The superstar, who is busy working on Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, will reunite with Nelson Dilipkumar for the sequel of Jailer.

In the announcement promo, director Nelson Dilipkumar and music composer Anirudh Ravichander are seen enjoying a peaceful time in a Goa house, only to be interrupted by a group of goons. The goons are eliminated by knives and guns thrown at them, leading to Rajinikanth’s dramatic entrance.

Filmmaker Nelson also took to social media and expressed his gratitude towards Rajinikanth. The film is being produced by Kalanidhi Maran under Sun Pictures, with Anirudh Ravichander handling the music. Additional details will be revealed by the makers shortly. The first part, released in 2023, emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year, raking in over Rs 700 crores at the box office.
