National Award winner Vikrant Massey begins shooting for Sri Sri Ravi Shankar biopic ‘White’ in Colombia

It was earlier reported that the film was being shot in Colombo, but contrary to such reports, the shooting has begun in Colombia.

National Award-winning actor Vikrant Massey has begun filming for his upcoming movie, 'White', in Colombia (South America), along with an international cast and crew. In the biopic, Massey will essay the role of spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It was earlier reported that the film was being shot in Colombo, but contrary to such reports, the filming has begun in Colombia.

Set against the backdrop of the 52-year-long brutal civil war of Colombia, White is a story inspired by true events, focusing on one man's unwavering belief that sparked a revolution and changed the course of history after 52 years of civil conflict, failed peace talks, immense loss of life, and no hope.

Meanwhile, Vikrant has immersed himself completely in reading sessions and undergone intensive acting workshops with the film’s writing and direction team.

Directed by Montoo Bassi, the movie is backed by Sidharth Anand, Mahaveer Jain, and PeaceCraft Pictures, and the film boasts an international production which includes the best of the best talent from Colombia and across the world.

In current times where numerous countries are at war, it is so important to find a solution and establish peace across the world. It is a matter of pride for all Indians that Gurudev brought about peace and helped in resolving the world’s longest civil conflict, a 52 year long civil war in Colombia. His solution was based on ancient philosophies of India. Hence, it is so important to make a film inspired by his work, as his teachings are resonating with the world & help us make it a better place. Also, we are thrilled to have Vikrant portray Gurudev’s character. He is so focused and a very nobel soul too. and I must say, this story is very engaging and interesting cinematic thriller too.

Shooting is happening at real locations within the country, with the makers having hired a team that includes professionals from the acclaimed series Narcos. White brings together an extensive international crew, spanning production and technical departments, all with prior experience on Narcos. This supports the ambition of crafting a global project centred on Shri Shri Ravi Shankar’s contributions to resolving Colombia’s 52-year-long conflict.
