Shah Rukh Khan wins first national film award after 33 years in cinema

The 71st National Film Awards 2023 will be memorable for many reasons. One, however, that topped all else is the news that Shah Rukh Khan earned his first National Film Award. The actor's wait has been more than three decades long, and this year's award, for Atlee's film Jawan, came quite expectedly.

The movie was one of SRK's blockbusters that dominated the box office across the globe and emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy completing King. The action-thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, also features his daughter Suhana Khan. While the first shooting schedule is wrapping up on June 30, the film is slated for a 2026 release.
