Five Supreme Court judges who will deliver Ayodhya verdict

The Supreme Court has announced that the Ayodhya Verdict will be declared on November 9, 2019. The decades-long dispute is being headed by a five-judge bench of the apex court.Ahead of Ayodhya verdict let us look at the panel of judges who will deliver the verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi- Babri Masjid case.

Justice Abdul Nazeer

Justice Abdul Nazeer started his career as an advocate in Karnataka High Court in 1983, where after 20 years he was elevated to the post of additional judge. In 2017, he was appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court.

Justice Ashok Bhushan

Justice Ashok Bhushan started his career in 1979 as an advocate with the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh in 1979 and became a judge of the Allahabad High Court in April 2001. He was transferred to the Kerala High Court in July 2014 and took charge as its Acting Chief Justice a few months later. He became a Supreme Court judge in May 2016.

Justice DY Chandrachud

Justice Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud practised at the Supreme Court of India and the Bombay High Court. He has been a judge in Bombay High Court and the CJI in the Allahabad High Court. In 2016, he was appointed as a Supreme Court judge.

Justice SA Bobde

Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde started his career by practising at the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court. In 1998 he was appointed as the senior advocate and later was elevated as the Additional Judge of Bombay High Court. In 2013, he became a Supreme Court judge. He is going to be the Chief Justice of India after Ranjan Gogoi.

Ranjan Gogoi

Ranjan Gogoi is the 46th Chief Justice of India. He started his journey by practising at the Gauhati High Court and dealing with cases of constitutional, taxation and company matters. He became the permanent judge of the Gauhati High Court on February 28, 2001. Later he was transferred to the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2011 and within a year he was promoted to the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court. On October 3, 2018, Gogoi was appointed as the Chief Justice of India.
