Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader said that he has proposed to set up a help desk for the registration of all those NRIs who return to their native places following new nationalisation rule of the Saudi Arabia government.

Speaking to media persons, he said the nationalisation rule of the Saudi government has affected several persons working there.

“The registration will help us to get details about those who returned back to their native places. This will also help the government to come out with any sort of help for them in future. I will also speak to Udupi district in-charge minister in this regard,” he said.

Khader said that all the housing beneficiaries who have been facing the problem of “blocking” of their allotment, should upload the photographs of their houses, to the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation, between September 5 and 20. E-governance will be introduced in Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation in the next six months. Accordingly, the details of all the housing project beneficiaries will be available online.

Poovamma, Dharun lauded

Khader lauded M R Poovamma from Dakshina Kannada and Dharun Ayyaswamy of Alva’s College for winning medals in the Asian Games. Poovamma has won gold in relay while Dharun has secured silver in 400m mixed relay team and 400 metre hurdles.

He said that he will speak to chief minister on announcing maximum benefits to the duo. “I will also write to prime minister and sports minister to announce cash prize and honour to the Asiad sports talents.”

He clarified that land will not be acquired for industrial purpose in his constituency.

If the people want to give the land for industrial purpose on their own, then he said he will not object.
