A centre run by a self help group to provide food to BPL families was today found to be allegedly fudging accounts, in a block in Palamu district during a suprise check.

The Block Co-operative Officer of Pandwa Block Bhagwan Ram who made a surprise check during the day on the centre run by SHG 'Swarnamati' was surprised to find a list of signatures and thumb impressions of 257 persons who claimed to have eaten though food was yet to be cooked.

Ram said the inspection was carried out following complaints of irregularities at the centre for the last few days.

He said he sent a report on the irregularity to the Nodal Officer Bipin Oraon for action.
Under the Mukya Mantri Dal-Bhat Yojna launched by former Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda on August 15, 2011 following drought in the state, BPL families were to be provided rice, dal and vegetables at Rs 5 per plate at railway stations, bus stands, hospitals and public places.
