Amarnath pilgrim dies

An Amarnath pilgrim died while eight others were injured after a gas cylinder exploded in a bus they were travelling in at Vessu area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

“They were rushed to a nearby hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries. Two of the injured are stated to be in critical condition,” a police spokesperson said.

The deceased has been identified as Ganjavarm (60), a resident of Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, 90,045 pilgrims paid obeisance at the Amarnath Cave shrine in till Wednesday evening.
