<p>Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/n-chandrababu-naidu">N Chandrababu Naidu</a> conducted a 'Bhoomi Puja' ceremony on Wednesday, laying the foundation stone for his family residence in Amaravati. </p><p>During his 2014-2019 term, Naidu faced criticism from opposition parties for proposing Amaravati as the state capital while not having a personal home there.</p><p>The ceremony was attended by his wife Bhuvaneswari, son and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani, and grandson Devansh. The land is strategically located adjacent to the E9 road behind the Velagapudi Secretariat. With registration processes now complete, construction has commenced on a G+1 model home. The Naidu family intends to complete construction and hold a house-warming ceremony within a year.</p><p>The foundation ceremony took place in the southwest corner of the site, which is situated between the temporary High Court and the Secretariat. </p><p>The property enjoys excellent connectivity with roads on all four sides—the E10 road to the east, E6 highway to the north, and internal layout roads to the west and south. </p><p>Numerous Amaravati farmers gathered to witness the ceremony and celebrated with chants of "Jai Chandrababu" and "Jai Amaravati" following the event. As a gesture of goodwill, villagers from Velagapudi presented silk clothes to the Naidu family.</p>
