FIR against RJD MLA for abducting, assaulting and forcing JD(U) leader to drink urine: Report

The JD(U) Vice President asserted that he was targetted because he had 'exposed' Ahmad's 'wrongdoings' regarding land grabbing.

Purnia police in Bihar have booked a case against RJD MLA Syed Ruknuddin Ahmad for allegedly abducting, assaulting and forcing Baisi's JD(U) Vice President to drink urine.

The RJD MLA and his five brothers have been named as the accused in the FIR which was filed at Baisi police station.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Md Rehan Fazal who is now hospitalised at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Purnia with fractures, told police that he was kidnapped on Wednesday night.

Rehan alleged that he was abducted by the MLA's supporters and taken to Ahmad's residence when he had gone to a local market.

The JD(U) Vice President asserted that he was targeted because he had "exposed" Ahmad's "wrongdoings" regarding land grabbing.

According to a report by HT, Rehan also said that he was assaulted and forced to drink urine when he asked for water.

He said that he was assaulted using bamboo sticks and iron rods leading to severe injuries and his hands and legs were fractured while protecting himself.

Rehan said that he was forcibly confined in a room and assaulted until he fell unconscious.

"When I regained senses, I asked for water, but they instead gave me urine. I objected to his (MLA) illegal capture of land of a Dalit and raised some issues against the MLA," he was quoted as saying by the publication.

"His henchmen including his brothers forcibly took me to his ‘torture house’ and brutally thrashed me with the rods. The MLA tortures anyone who raises voice against him. The MLA’s men made an abortive attempt to stab me," he further said.

"An FIR has been lodged under Sections 191 (2), 191 (3), 190, 127 (1), 127 (2), 115 (2), 118 (1), 123, 351, 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and further probe is underway," HT quoted SHO Sanjeev Kumar.

"As the matter involves an MLA, we have sought guidelines from our superiors, but we’ll take appropriate action," the report quoted another policeman as saying.
