A special anti-terrorism court has framed charges against two accused in the 1993 Bombay blast case, paving the way for third phase of the trial.
The charges were framed against Mohammed Farooq Mansoor alias Farooq Takla and Ahmed Kalam Shaikh alias Lambu before additional sessions judge SV Yarlagadda, who presides over a special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) court.
The court on Monday posted the hearing for March 7 when the date of the trial would be fixed.
Takla was brought from Dubai and placed under arrest at the New Delhi airport and then brought to Mumbai in March 2018, while Lambu was picked up by Gujarat ATS in May 2018 and sent to Mumbai.
They were formally arrested by the Special Task Force of the CBI, that is investigating the serial blasts case.
Takla has made arrangements in Dubai to send accused to Pakistan for training and plan their return to India. Lambu had attended training in Pakistan.
Both the accused have pleaded not guilty. So far two phases of the trial are held by TADA court in the case - and 107 persons had been convicted.
Takla and Lambu are among the third set of accused to face trial.
