Central team arrives in Thiruvananthapuram to monitor Covid-19 situation

In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases in Kerala, A central team arrived in Thiruvananthapuram on July 30. The team will also visit Kollam and Alappuzha to evaluate the Covid prevention activities. Soon after the arrival Director of National Centre for Disease Control, Dr SK Singh said, “There are many concerns, rise in positivity rate is one. Cases are declining everywhere and transmission is continuing in Kerala. Let us discuss this with the state. It's a comprehensive situation, let us see how things unfold.”

The state government announced a complete lockdown on July 31 and August 1. Kerala reports 20,772 new Covid-19 cases, 14,651 recoveries, and 116 deaths in the last 24 hours.
