<p>The Delhi Police on Wednesday took former law minister Jitender Singh Tomar to Uttar Pradesh’s Faizabad district to gather evidence over his “fake academic documents”, even as the 49-year-old leader continued to claim that the allegations were false and were part of a conspiracy by the Centre. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Sources said the Union Home Ministry has sought minute-by-minute updates from the police about “ongoing investigations, the activities and behaviour” of Tomar.<br /><br />The police team, including Hauz Khas police station SHO Satinder Sangwan, is required to send updates as they happen to the south district police who, in turn, inform a special commissioner-level officer, then the inputs find their way to Delhi Police Commissioner Bhim Sain Bassi before reaching the Union Home Ministry.<br /><br />“The team first took Lucknow Mail train from New Delhi railway station to Lucknow at 10:05 pm on Tuesday. After reaching Lucknow on Wednesday morning, Tomar was taken to Faizabad in Ganga Sutlej Express,” said a police officer.<br /><br />They reached K S Saket PG College of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University at 12:30 pm. Tomar claims to have a BSc degree from the college, but his degree certificates and marks cards were not found in the college or the university’s records. <br /><br />The roll number mentioned in the documents was also not found. It was confirmed by the Controller of Examination and the Registrar who were questioned in front of Tomar.<br /></p>
