<p>Mumbai: The cotton traders across India have suspended trade with Turkey in the wake of the latter’s support to Pakistan during the Operation Sindoor, according to Cotton Association of India (CAI).</p><p>In a circular to members, CAI President Atul Ganatra has urged its members to wholeheartedly support the boycott against Turkey. </p><p>“As you are aware Turkey imports cotton and other material from India. In 2024, Turkey’s total imports from India including cotton amounted to US$ 74.27 million whereas exports to India during the same period was US$ 2.84 billion,” Ganatra said in a press statement. </p>. <p>According to him, in the past too Turkey has raised the Kashmir issue and acted against India in international fora including United Nations. </p><p>“Turkey’s actions are against our national sovereignty and integrity,” he said, adding that Turkey has been aiding and abetting Pakistan and had supplied military hardware to them.</p>
