Allegedly furious over the gateman's refusal to lift the level crossing barrier, a BJP MLA parked his vehicle on the railway tracks disrupting the movement of trains in Uttar Pradesh's Shahajahanpur district.

According to the reports, saffron party legislator from Miranpur Katra Assembly constituency Veer Vikram Singh allegedly tried to force the gateman to lift the movable barrier on the level crossing at Hulasnagar in the district on Friday night.

The level crossing was closed to allow a train to pass, reports said.

Singh got angry when the gateman refused to open the level crossing gate. He forced him to open one of the barriers and then parked his vehicle on the railway tracks.

The MLA and his supporters also allegedly assaulted the gateman, reports said.

The furious MLA called the local police station in-charge at the spot and asked him to register a case against the gateman. Senior railway officials also reached the spot after getting the information.

Sources said that a probe had been ordered into the matter.

Singh, however, denied that he had parked his vehicle on the tracks but admitted that he had an altercation with the gateman.

Earlier also BJP MLAs and ministers had hit the headlines for assaulting government officials and cops when they refused to give in to their demands. A BJP MLA had even publicly humiliated a lady IPS officer in Gorakhpur bringing her to tears.
