GST 2.0 Rollout Begins: Here's what could cost you less

As the new GST rates take effect on Monday, September 22, consumers will feel the relief, with key sectors including FMCG and Auto committing to pass on the cost reductions. Here's a range of everyday products, now under the 12% tax slab, that are expected to be brought down to 5%. Items include:

Daily-use items such as toothpaste, soaps, and hair care products.

Ready-to-eat items such as biscuits, savoury snacks, and fruit juices

Milk-based products like ghee and sweetened condensed milk.

Two-wheelers and everyday stationery items

Low-cost apparel and footwear within an affordable price range.

Items like air conditioners, refrigerators, and dishwashers, currently in the 28% tax slab, may be moved to 18%, offering consumers savings of up to 8%.

Prices for large-screen TVs are projected to drop significantly, making them more accessible to consumers.
