<p>The two countries have been trying to settle the issue for nearly two decades.<br />"Yes, we expect an agreement on Teesta and Feni (rivers)," Water Resources Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal told reporters here.<br /><br />Bansal had a meeting with Mashiur Rahman, Advisor to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, here today ahead of the meeting of the Joint River Commission to be held in Dhaka.<br />The JRC will meet ahead of the PM's visit to finalise the agreement. While no dates have been fixed for the meeting of the JRC, Bansal is expected to attend it.<br /><br />He said he could visit Bangladesh ahead of the PM's visit on September 6 and 7.<br />The Water Resources Secretaries of the two countries had met here a month back to "fine tune" the agreement on water sharing.<br /><br />"The basic approach is that we share so many things in common and if we can work together, it brings benefits to both sides and no to do that is to deny the benefit that we can give to the people...the boder should not determine whether the benefit should be available or not," Rahman said.</p>
