'2 seats for Rahul, 300 MPs for Cong, allies'

Last Updated 02 April 2019, 13:01 IST

Coalition Government Coordination Committee chairman Siddaramaiah stated that Congress Party chief Rahul Gandhi would win both Amethi and Wayanad seats in Lok Sabha elections, while Congress and its alliance would have more than 300 MPs in total.

Congress would win over 150 seats, while its alliance parties would bag 150 seats. Our victory would be in more than 20 seats in the State, he noted.

In reply to Kerala Chief Minister P Vijayan's remark about Rahul contesting from Wayanad, Siddaramaiah said, "the fight in Kerala is always between Congress and left parties'.

On his way to Bidar, Siddaramaiah told media persons here on Tuesday that what BJP leaders, who were saying that Rahul selected two seat due to the fear of defeat at Amethi, would say about Narendra Modi who contested in two seats in last elections.

Answering a query on National Conference leader Omar Abdulla's remarks about having a separate prime minister for Jammu & Kashmir, he said, Jammu & Kashmir is part and parcel of India, and there is not a question of having a separate PM there.

'Aham Brahmasmi Modi'

Meanwhile, former minister C M Ibrahim criticised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is showing 'Aham Brahmasmi' (I am divine) attitude, and the need of the hour is to save the country and the Constitution from 'Modi BJP'.

Modi's BJP is not the one that of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L K Advani. When BJP leaders say that every progress took place in last five years, do they mean that nothing happened when Atal Bihari Vajpayee also was the prime minister? Since independence, India has grown a lot, due to the efforts of Congress governments. Do BJP gives birth to ready-made babies, Ibrahim asked satirically.

Unlike previous prime ministers, Modi claimed credit even for the achievements of the army. How can he be a Chowkidar when he could not prevent the theft of files from then Defense Ministry itself? But, those who criticise him are being projected as anti-nationals, he lamented.

Modi wave is only in national media and social media, but among people, it is actually anti-Modi wave. Expect unexpected results this time, he noted.

When BJP ticket for Ananth Kumar's wife Tejaswini was denied, B S Yeddyurappa should have resigned, as it showed that B L Santosh is dominating there, he added.
