Amit Shah to address BJP yatra in Mysuru today

Last Updated 24 January 2018, 18:58 IST

BJPpresident Amit Shah will address the final rally of the Navakarnataka Nirmana Parivarthana Yatra in Mysuru on Thursday. This will be Shah's third address at the yatra after the inaugural in Bengaluru on November 2 and later, at Holalkere inChitradurga. The yatra has travelled to most of the 224 Assembly segments in the state as part of the party's pre-poll campaign.

The party has strategically chosen Mysuru, the home turf of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, for the conclusion of the yatra. Shah is expected to take Siddaramaiah head-on at the rally, scheduled to start at 2 pm at Maharaja's College Grounds.

The convention will happen on the day when several pro-Kannada organisations and farmers' groups have given a statewide bandh call, seeking resolution of the Mahadayi water dispute.
